We celebrate Pride in celebration, in affirmation, and in continued rebellion against oppression and systemic violence; and we remember that to truly participate in Pride is to continue the social uprising that was sparked by that week at Stonewall in 1969.
“…queer as not about who you’re having sex with, that can be a dimension of it, but queer as being about the self that is at odds with everything around it and has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live.” - bell hooks, 2014(?) panel panel, ‘Are You Still a Slave? Liberating the Black Female Body’ |

Utah Pride Interfaith Service, hosted by First Unitarian Church
This was a mostly online event, so our band did not present any music this year. We still participated in a meaningful way - Jen wrote the communal interfaith prayer that starts at 49:58, and produced the prayer video with 21 different speakers reading the prayer! |

Pride 2019
Pride Service, hosted by Bountiful Community Church
BCC invited Jen to plan and lead the worship service & invited the band to lead the congregation in music! This was such a fun & exciting way to build inter-church community with our friends from Bountiful.

Utah Pride Interfaith Service, hosted by Christ United Methodist Church
Our band presented prelude music for this year's annual interfaith service - a 10-song medley to fit the year's theme "Exist, Resist, Persist!" This medley included snippets of: "Beautiful Things," "You Say," "Beloved," "Make Your Own Kind of Music," "Fight Song," "We're Not Gonna Take It," "Firework," "Scars to Your Beautiful," and "It's Not Over Yet."
